Kids Fare Garden Club

Kids Fare Garden Club includes a combination of hands-on learning in our children’s garden, plus supplementing with fun activities.  This is designed for school-aged children, but younger children may attend with a caretaker’s assistance.  On-site registration and sign-in required.

Mondays, May 5-26, 4-5 p.m.

Mondays, June 2 – August 4, 10-11 a.m.

Before Eat A Rainbow! classes, Wednesdays or Thursdays, June 18 – July 24, 9:30-10 a.m.

Thursdays, July 31 – August 7, 10-11 a.m.

The club is led by Alana Reynolds of the Butler Elementary School Community Garden/Grow Springfield/Slow Food Springfield. Kids will learn gardening basics and take care of the three raised beds in our children’s garden area.

Kids will typically plant seeds and seedlings, water, weed, and harvest. There will often be time for playing, socializing, and snacking. This club is drop-in, though parents are welcome to stay.

Many thanks to Dr. John Flack of SIU School of Medicine for funding our children’s garden club!
