Kids Fare Garden Club

Kids Fare Garden Club is for school-aged children, though younger kids may attend with a hands-on parent. The club will be led by Alana Reynolds. Kids will learn gardening basics and take care of the three raised beds in our children’s garden area.

Kids will typically plant seeds and seedlings, water, weed, and harvest. There will often be time for playing, socializing, and snacking. This club is drop-in, though parents are welcome to stay. A registration form can be completed in person before club attendance.

KFGC runs Mondays through the season, beginning May 6 from 4-5 p.m. On June 10, we’ll begin meeting from 10-11 a.m. until the series concludes on August 5.

KFGC will also take place at 9:30 a.m. (a half-hour before the Eat A Rainbow classes) on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning June 12 and ending July 18. After the conclusion of Eat A Rainbow classes, KFGC will meet on Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. until August 8.

If there is interest, we may continue the club through the end of the gardening season, concluding at the end of September. To be determined!

Many thanks to Dr. John Flack of SIU School of Medicine for funding our children’s garden club!
